Building semantic networks in the early lexicon - Speaker: Arielle Borovsky

Measures of early vocabulary skills often focus on the number of words children know and say, and this enterprise has yielded many insights into the development of early language. But word learning is not random – children acquire vocabularies that reflect their accumulated experience. In this talk, I will share an overview of work from my lab that explores how measuring structure of meaning in the early lexicon can further illuminate how we represent, process, and learn words.
