Open Access, reusability and reproducibility in linguistics - Speaker: Sebastian Nordhoff
Open Access, reusability and reproducibility in linguistics
This talk will discuss ways how research in linguistics can be made open. What technical and legal aspects should researchers consider when they publish an article/book/software/data? How can we make sure that other researchers will find and appreciate our findings and how they are presented? Which venues are there for articles/books/data to ensure dissemination beyond the immediate circle of the research group? The talk will also give insights into the internal processes of book and article publication on the publisher’s side and give recommendation on how to get your publications out more quickly.
Sebastian Nordhoff is managing director of the open access Language Science Press since 2014. Before, he worked on the languages of Paraguay and Sri Lanka, created glottolog.org and edited, among other things, the book „Linked Data in Linguistcs“.
