The Integrated Research Training Group (IGK) offers and ensures an attractive, comprehensive, structured and cross-disciplinary scientific qualification program for the PhD students involved in the SFB. The key components of the IGK’s qualification plan include a structured course program, which familiarizes the PhD students with the central theoretical concepts relevant to the SFB, and the facilitation of collaboration between projects and across research areas, which raises the PhD students’ awareness of cross-disciplinary research questions and methodologies. The PhD students will assume partial responsibility for workshops, summer schools, lecture series, and outreach events. The IGK is organized in close cooperation with the university’s general graduate program (GradUS), a quality assurance and networking program developed for doctoral researchers at Saarland University.
Furthermore, Saarland University’s Welcome Center is offering support to international researchers coming to Saarbrücken.
The university’s general graduate center Gradus offers a variety of opportunities including a versatile workshop program and various funding opportunities.
